Fairy bread

Ingredients

1 loaf of sliced fresh white sandwich bread
Butter, at room temperature
A container of hundreds and thousands

Method
Spread the bread slices evenly with butter.
Place the hundreds and thousands on a plate.
Press the bread, buttered-side down, into the hundreds and thousands to coat.
Cut into triangles.
Serve or place in the fridge for serving later.

Jazzing it up
Use cookie cutters to create brilliant party themed shapes, such as stars, trucks, balloons, crowns before coating the bread in hundreds and thousands.

 

Pin Wheel Fairy Bread

Ingredients
A loaf of white soft bread not sliced
Butter
Hundreds and Thousands

Method

Cut off crusts from each slice of bread.
Slice the bread long ways to make 4 or 5 slices.
Squash bread down with hand to make it flat and compressed.
Spread with butter.
Cover with Hundreds and Thousands.
Roll up slice of bread from one side to the other.
Silce up the rolled slice of bread into even pieces.
Place each pin wheel on a kebab stick for individual pin wheels!

Honey joys

Ingredients
4 cups of Corn Flakes
1 tablespoon honey
1/3 cup sugar
90 g butter or margarine

Method
Preheat oven to 150°C.
Line 24 hole patty pan with paper cases.
Melt butter, sugar and honey together in a saucepan until frothy.
Add Corn Flakes and mix well. Working quickly spoon into paper patty cases.
Bake in the oven for 10 minutes.
Cool.

Makes approximately 24

Jazzing it up
Try adding sprinkles or edible glitter before you cook them!

 

Tic Toc Tea Cups

Ingredients

250 grams Tic Toc biscuits
34 grams musk Lifesavers
200 grams chocolate freckles
250 grams marshmallows
2 tablespoons icing sugar
1 tablespoon water

Method
Make a smooth paste with water and icing sugar. You only need a small amount and you can use pre made icing instead.
Stick a marshmallow on the coloured side of each biscuit, in the middle, with icing paste.
Stick freckle on top of marshmallow.
Cut life saver in half and stick on the side to make the handle.
Repeat until all biscuits have been used.

Makes approximately 25

 

Chocolate Crackles

Ingredients
4 cups of Rice Bubbles
1 cup icing sugar
1 cup desiccated coconut
3 Tablespoons cocoa
250 grams copha, chopped

Method
In a large bowl, mix the Rice Bubbles, icing sugar, cocoa and coconut.
Slowly melt the copha in a saucepan over a low heat.
Allow to cool slightly.
Add to Rice Bubbles mixture, stirring until well combined.
Spoon mixture into paper patty cases and refrigerate until firm.

Makes approximately 24.

Marshmallow Rice Bubble Slice

Ingredients
75 grams Butter
1 ½ packages of Marshmallow (pink and white)
6 cups of rice bubbles

Method
Butter a large lamington or slice pan and set aside
Heat a large, heavy-based saucepan to a medium heat and melt the butter.
Add marshmallows and allow to melt completely until you have a smooth cream.
Be sure to stir constantly so it does not burn.
Add the rice bubbles quickly and continue to stir vigorously.
Once all ingredients are combined, place the mixture into prepared pan and press down using the back of a clean spoon until even.
Allow to cool and cut into slices.
Serve or store in an air-tight container for up to one week.

Jazzing it up

You can add anything to this slice to jazz it up. Try sprinkles on the top, adding chocolate pieces or lollies in the mixture.
For a colour theme, you can choose only the pink marshmallows to make the slice more pink.

Perfect Party Plan Beautiful Home Style Sausage Rolls
Dairy and Egg free

Ingredients
500 grams lean mince beef
500 grams sausage mince
2 onions grated
1 zucchini grated
2 cattors grated
2 cloves of garlic crushed
½ teaspoon mixed herbs
1 tablespoon barbecue sauce
3 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
½ cup breadcrumbs
Salt and pepper to taste
Borg’s puff pastry sheets (these are vegan friendly)
1 beaten egg to brush the tops with

 

Method
Preheat oven to moderate temperature of 180 degrees C.
Lightly grease baking tray.
In a bowl, combine sausage and beef mince, onions, garlic, sauces, zucchini, carrot, breadcrumbs, mixed herbs and some salt and pepper. Mix until well combined, you might even have to get your hands involved.
Take our pastry sheets to allow to thaw, cut sheets in half.
Spoon a portion of mince mixture down the middle of the pastry strip.
Roll the pastry over the mixture and press the edges to seal, leaving the ends open.
With a sharp knife, cut the sausage rolls in to half or 4, then place on the oven trays seam side down.
Brush the top with the egg mixture. This can be removed if there are any egg allergies.
Place in a very hot oven 230 degrees C 25- 30 minutes or until golden brown.
Serve with your favourite sauce.

Makes a whole bunch.
